About

Hello :)

I'm Tina Orr, an artisanal baker based in Toronto. Moonbeams and Marigolds is my cookie company and the name is a nod to my children, whose Korean names refer to the sky and nature.

I've been baking and making art in one form or another since I was a little girl growing up in my family’s deli in Corso Italia. That passion for food and creativity later fueled my study of fine art and art history at Concordia University and the School of Oriental and African Studies.

After toying for many years with the idea of starting a venture that brings together my passion for art and food, I'm thrilled to finally be in business, handcrafting artful, gourmet treats that taste as good as they look.

I make cookies from scratch, in small batches, using simple, quality ingredients and tested techniques. My recipes are inspired by global flavours, art forms and cultural traditions. I'm drawn to rustic elegance, where subtle irregularities speak to a beauty that isn't overworked and the touch of the handmade reflects the presence of a human maker. Above all, I enjoy baking with care and a passionate commitment to flavour, texture, colour and presentation.

While providing the comfort and taste of a lovingly baked treat, Moonbeams + Marigolds is also DineSafe certified. This means your order is prepared and packaged by me at a fully licensed and inspected kitchen.

Thank you for supporting local and playing a valued role in the Moonbeams + Marigolds story!
