Hello :)

I'm Tina Orr, a self-taught artisanal baker based in Toronto. Moonbeams and Marigolds is my cookie company. The name is a nod to my children, whose Korean names refer to the sky and nature.

Passionate about the arts, words and food, I've been making art in one form or another and baking since I was a little girl growing up in my family’s deli in Corso Italia. For a time I thought I was going to become a professor of art history. But while working on my Ph.D., I found myself baking more than ever before. With baking, I felt more connected to myself and my community. Turns out my family, friends, relatives, neighbours, and friends of friends delighted in my baking, too.

After being told enough times that I should either open a bakery or be an author, I eventually agreed, to the bakery part at least! I'm thrilled to be in business, handcrafting and selling cookies that taste as good as they look. 

I make my cookies from scratch, in small batches, using simple ingredients and time-tested techniques. This is how I've always baked, with care and a passionate commitment to flavour, texture, freshness and creativity.

While providing the comfort and taste of a lovingly homebaked treat, Moonbeams + Marigolds is DineSafe certified. This means Moonbeams + Marigolds cookies are carefully prepared and packaged by yours truly at a fully licensed and inspected kitchen.
